FAQs

One of the key skills we look for is to ask the right questions at the right time.

Here are a few examples of what people generally ask us.

What's the recruitment process?

Firstly you must send through your CV, which is then screened. If you're successful you'll be invited for an interview / assessment centre. The recruitment process is usually in several stages as we are very thorough about choosing the right people. At each stage you'll be invited into one of the Fidelity offices where you'll get the chance to meet Fidelity managers from the business you are applying to. This will give you a feel for the organisation and the people who work here. For further details please visit our recruitment process page.

What is the salary / package offered?

We ensure we pay competitive salaries and will discuss your expectations, although the finer details depend on individual circumstances and aren't disclosed until offer stage.

What benefits do you offer?

We believe in rewarding employees generously. Accordingly, we offer competitive basic salaries as well as a range of other benefits.  To find out more please visit our benefits page.

Will I be contacted if unsuccessful?

We will always acknowledge your application and then inform you of your progress throughout the process by email. When applying ensure that your email address is correct as this is the method we'll use to contact you.

What are the working hours?

This is a harder question than it seems, though Fidelity takes care to ensure that we get the "work/life" balance right. Although standard hours in most parts of our business are 9am to 5pm, a typical working day will depend on your department and the peaks and troughs of the business. As a company we are very hard working and successful employees often 'go the extra mile'. This can often involve overtime in busy periods or shift-working in specialist teams and sometimes weekend working. At interview stage we will explain full details of the actual working hours for the department you've applied for.

Is there an induction scheme?

We offer all employees a corporate induction/orientation programme and in some business areas you will receive an additional department induction.

Will I be thrown in at the deep end?

No. But you will be doing a real job, with real responsibilities and challenges very quickly.

How easy is it to get international experience within Fidelity?

Fidelity is a truly international organisation with over 20 offices world wide. However, we are only recruiting for positions within the home location, initially. If an opportunity arises overseas that is good for you and good for the business, then there is nothing stopping you from applying for that role.

What are the promotional prospects like?

Although there are no set career paths within Fidelity, promotional prospects are excellent for people who want to take control of their own career. You'll be given the training and tools to develop along whichever path suits you. And of course, as our business grows, so will your career prospects.

What's the atmosphere like at Fidelity?

Of course every office is different. However, our company culture is one that's welcoming and professional, where you are valued not just for what you can do but for the kind of person you are. You'll feel challenged but you'll also feel appreciated.
